Lazy Weekend in Yosemite

Saturday and Sunday 9/19 to 9/20/2015, temporary off the PCT

I took the shuttle from Tuolumne Meadows to Olmsted Point where I met with Susie who came up for the weekend. We had a relaxing afternoon at Tenaya Lake and my legs were thankful for the rest.

We then drove to Yosemite Valley and stayed at the Yosemite Lodge where we had a nice dinner and a lazy Sunday.

Later on Sunday I checked for a permit from Happy Isle to Tuolumne Meadows and lucky me there was exactly one left, Halfdome included. I guess I will go on Halfdome on Monday.
We said goodbye and I was back on the trail by 4 pm, now John Muir Trail (JMT) instead of PCT. my goal was the backpackers camp below Halfdome, a short four miles away.

Shortly before arriving I met Lee, trail name Cheesecandle from Buffalo, who had just started his hike and wants to hike the PCT to Donner Pass, similar to my hike so far but in reverse. After his hike he will start his service with Americacorps in Sacramento.
